the waiting of many a chic san diegan has finally come to an end. the doors at h&m in fashion valley are now officially wide-open, and it's almost too much.

we felt true heart palpitations as we walked closer and closer to the entrance, and it was no surprise to see several trendy shoppers needing to take a breather outside. how we could have ever taken the easy access we once had in the big apple for granted?!

an event of this proportion requires a follow-up posting, of course...our top picks to come!

a whole new meaning to 'office romance'

we have to thank a very fashionable coworker for this one. she strolled in the other morning with a tight black turtleneck, this number to the left, black opaque tights and black heels. knockout! ...and we were totally jealous.

the best part is the satin/tulle lining that gives this skirt just enough lift to be super flirty and feminine, but still office-appropriate. and you can thank our friends at a little place called forever 21 for making it a steal!

so, let's take stock for a second of how fantastically awesome target is. seriously.

where else can you pick up shampoo, a great black frame and fab new anya hindmarch bag -- all within just mere aisles of each other?

i think a love letter to the brilliant buying department is definitely in order. here's how it might go:

thank you for bringing isaac, mossimo and lots of their designer friends into our lives. thanks to you we are effortlessly chic and, even though you send us on our way with much more than we came in for, we're still not drowning in debt! please also give our love to your ad dept for the fun commercials, especially the dancing one for college this year...we were big fans.

newest fave find: this pair of gold metallic moccasins. not only did they help with a perfect transition from summer to fall, but you can wear them for hours (so comfy!).

sacajawea would be proud.

have you ever had a neighborhood place -- your place -- that was a much a part of your day as brushing your teeth?

for ssd, this was twiggs bakery at the base of the cortez downtown. so you can imagine our period of grief -- as much as we adored the lovely italianos at sole luna -- when they left.

thankfully, the Good Lord heard our prayers and moved Dan, Bernie and the most wonderful coffee and cakes to the corner of adams ave and idaho. he also gave us the good sense to move ourselves between the Heights and now it's just like old times!

make sure to check them out, especially now with the breakfast biscuit that made us shout "what?!? did we just become best friends??"

and, it goes without saying, that if you're shopping for wedding cake -- this is where you'll happily end your hunt.
